New York City Marathon Training Week 5

Week 5 of NYC training ended with a half marathon. As usually the weather was beyond hot. For Tuesday run, I joined the Big Peach Decatur for my usual 3 mile run. Thursday was the first ATC training run with the training participants. I loved the training run because I was pushed to run a sub 10 pace. I need to get out of my head to get back to my past running pace. As the temperatures cool down, I will focus on working on maintaining a 10 min/mile pace.

On Saturday, I did double duty. For Atlanta Track Club training that morning, we started 5/10k training. I only ran three miles since I was going to run a half marathon later that night. Later on I ran the Area 13.1 half marathon in 90 degree heat. It was so hot. I was so glad when it was over. That was longest 13.1 miles of my life. Thankful I finished it and put a stamp on week 5. On to Week 6.
