Since 2014 Savannah has been one of my favorite racing destination cities. It's a four hour drive from my home and more importantly the terrain is flat. Compared to ATL, running in Savannah is a dream. It is one of the three cities, including ATL and Orlando, that have run all four major races distances (5k, 10k, half, and full). The food and tourist sites don't hurt either.

The 2020 Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon was rescheduled to November 21, 2020. I am opting for the virtual half marathon this year due to the close proximity to the Savannah Bridge run. I am taking advantage of the time I have now to train for the 2021 half marathon. The 2021 half marathon and 5k races will take place on March 27.

My plan for the 2021 half marathon is to try for a sub 2 finish. Hopefully the flat course and nice March weather will work in my favor. The course is beautiful and scenic. The race starts and ends at Forsyth Park and includes many historic squares, beautiful homes, and iconic places. I am look forward to a road trip to Savannah with a few of my friends. The race is known for the best swag and beautiful medals.
