I am totally sold on the power of 2XU compression tights. Before, during, and after a run they give great support to your legs. While I enjoy compression pants, I have not tried individual compression items. 2XU compression socks and calf sleeves (http://www.2xu.com/us) provide support for running when the tights are not needed. So are these compression items the truth like the tights?
VECTR compression socks
The VECTR compression socks are the first pair of socks that I own that identify the foot that each sock should go on. The socks provided great support without putting too much pressure on my feet. I don't feel them when I wear them for a run. I wore them for the Rock 'n' Roll NOLA marathon and my feet did not develop blisters. I also wore them after the Montgomery Marathon and they helped soothe my feet after I ran on gravel, which caused me to develop blisters due to wearing thin socks during the run.
I love using the calf sleeves for running and recovery. They made my calves feel great and did not feel tight or constricting. Just like the socks, during my run they felt as if they were not there. I could easily wear them under tights or with shorts. I used them for recovery after the Montgomery Marathon. The sleeves are easy to put on and take off.
I wore the VECTR socks and calf sleeves after the Montgomery Marathon and recovered after 3 days. Wearing them together for a run gives a compression experience that is not uncomfortable or constricting. As I ran, I forgot that I had on compression gear.
Yes, these items are the truth. I am going to add both of these items to my running gear collection. Compression has been instrumental in my recovery after long runs. 2XU makes great products and the socks and calf sleeves did not disappoint.
