One of the most exciting events for Atlanta this year was hosting Super Bowl 53. I was chosen as a volunteer for the event, which was an amazing experience. The city also hosted the Super Bowl 5k on Feb 1 to celebrate the event. Feb 1 was a Friday and the race took place at 6:30 am at Piedmont Park. The timing was perfect before going to work. It was so cold, but the race supported Back on My Feet which made it all worth it.

The course took us through Piedmont Park which was mostly flat. I also liked that we didn't have to worry about traffic during that time of day. We received medals, which is rare for a 5k. Two weeks later, we received replacement medals. Overall, the race was fun and I finished in 33:30.
