February Running Report

I am thankful and proud to say that I am back to running. My doctor released me from my boot two weeks ago (Feb 3) and since then I started walking to improve the strength in my foot. Even though my foot has been healing, there was still lingering pain after the doctor's release.


Last Saturday (Feb 20), I ran my first interval 2 mile run. I am currently running for 30s and following by walking for 30s to make sure I don't overdo it. My foot feels great and and I don't notice a big loss in my endurance. I think my biggest struggle is the mental block that comes with injury recovery. I am also more careful on the sidewalks so I don't twist my ankle again.


My plan is to start a 10k training plan in March to slowly ramp my running back to half marathon levels in April.
