I am sure I am not alone in saying "if my hands are warm, so am I". I dread running in cold weather and most of the time I can't find my gloves. I mostly own regular gloves that I have to take off when my hands get too hot. As result, I just leave the gloves at home to avoid the hassle. Turtle Gloves Midweight Winter SoFlip Running Mittens combine what I need in gloves, warmth and the ability to let my fingers cool down when I get hot during my run.
The gloves are constructed with breathable wicking fabrics. They are lightweight and provide wrist covering that easily slides in place without the typical elastic band that is found in normal gloves. The gloves can be worn on either hand and include an elastic look on the side for hooking on your running belt.
The gloves can be worn two ways. One way is as a mitten that covers all the fingers.
The mitten were great at the start of my runs. My watch and Fitbit both fit comfortably under the gloves. My hands were warm and the gloves were comfortable. The gloves didn't slip and they even doubled as a sweat grabber.
The second mode of wear of the gloves is with the fingers free. It is easy to convert from the mittens to liberating your fingers. This was my favorite option since I could cool down without removing my gloves.
I wore the gloves for my training runs and for the Mount Dora Double Dora Races. For all the runs I either wore them as mittens or I would flip them to cool down my fingers. For the Mount Dora half marathon, once the weather warmed up, I took them off and used the elastic side loop to attach them to my Spibelt.
I plan to continue to wear these gloves. They are bright orange so I should have no issues finding them for future runs. They are also easy to clean and the BibRave logo survived the washer and dryer.
