The sun has been blazing and the humidity has been hugging me like an electric blanket. While this has been a hot summer, running must go on. To help combat the UV radiation and heat, I had the opportunity to test a UV Buff by Buff USA (http://buffusa.com/). Let's get started on this review
Product unpacking
The buff comes simply packed and is easy to remove from the package. I have the colure purple style.
Headband feature
The product claims to block 95% of the UV radiation. That is great since the UV index in the south is pretty high in the summer time. I wore the buff as a headband to protect part of my face, neck, and scalp from the sun. While I cannot measure the amount of radiation that was blocked, it was a great headband. It remained in place and absorbed sweat well.
Sweat/Hand towel feature
I am a headband junky and I like to rotate my collection. When I didn't wear the buff as a headband, I decided to try to use it as a hand towel to collect sweat during the runs. It easily fit on my hand and worked well for swiping sweat off my forehead. I only used for 5k runs so I don't know how much sweat it would absorb during a half or full marathon. The buff can be easily washed in the laundry with other run gear.
Final verdict
I really like the UV Buff and I would recommend it as a headband or hand towel.
