Disclaimer: I received an entry into the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon to evaluate as part of being a member of the Vibe Network. Check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

Today's Medal Monday is in celebration of the 2025 Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon. This year was the 11th anniversary of the race. This was my 7th time running and this is the warmest year I have even raced. I was a tough race due to the heat, I enjoyed the challenge.

The Expo

The expo was held at the Charles Morris Center. Packet picket up was quick. We received a bib, tee-shirt, and bag. There were few vendors selling shoes and apparel. It was a bit warm, so I didn't stay long at the expo.

Race Day

The race started at the usual location, Forsyth Park. One of my favorite reasons about running in Savannah is the availability of parking near the start line. I was able to find street parking near the park. I met another Vibe runner and hung out with Black Girls Run Savannah and Tampa ladies. I wore my traditional multicolored leggings and BGR shirt. It was weird not running in my BibRave orange gear.

The race started at 7:30 am and it was warm and humid. This race should have been called "If the Peachtree Road Race was a half marathon". I focused on enjoying the scenery, refueling, and taking walking intervals was needed. I am thankful for the homeowner who sprayed me with her water hose around mile 8. I have lost 20lbs this year and I am much better shape than last year. I have also stayed focused on race. I finished the race in 2:46:20. It was one of my slower times, but I am proud that I made it to the finish.

I didn't hang out for the post race celebration due to having to check out of my hotel by 11 am. I am appreciative of Vibe, BGR, and the race organizers for another successful finish. Happy Medal Monday!
