Too Compress or not compress?

As I get ready to train for the Dopey Challenge (19 days to go) I am testing a Zensah compression thigh sleeve (http://www.zensah.com/) to see if it will help me to recover faster after a long run. This is my first experience with compression wear so I know this is going to be interesting. For this post, I am only to going to discuss my initial fitting and my trial walk with the sleeve.

The product

The Zensah compression thigh sleeve comes in two sizes (S/M and L/XL). I have the L/XL size to go over my thighs. The product is light and comes in minimal packaging.

The fitting

Since this is my first experience with compression gear, putting the sleeve on was a bit of a challenge. For my initial fitting, I put the sleeve on my bare thigh. It took a little effort to get the sleeve on and since my thighs are large the top rolled down a bit. For my second fitting, I tried them on over some running capris. It was easier to put the sleeve on, but the top still rolled down. After I put the sleeve on over the capris, I took it for an initial test drive.

The Walk

I took a short walk with the compression sleeve on my left thigh. The sleeve was a bit tight and uncomfortable. Compression gear is meant to be tight so I won't count this gear out as of right now.

I am going to take them for a run and write another post on that experience.
