Well in my last post I talked about liking potato chips (I still do) and my efforts to clean up my nutrition. I am still a work in progress and now I am fighting off the almighty Girl Scout cookies. Thank God I am running a marathon next Sunday! Well while I am on the journey of better nutrition, I had the January Bulu Box (www.bulubox.com) to help with those efforts.

The December box had great snacks so when my January box arrived I was hoping for more delicious snacks. The January box, shown below, was different than the previous box. The box had an array of supplements and skin cream. So how did this box fare?

Biocell Collagen Supplement

Biocell is a joint and skin care supplement that claims to comfort sore joints and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I took one pill and I am not sure how effective it was for the claims that were stated. For supplements I don't expect one pill to be effective since this product was meant to be taken long term. It might have results if I had more samples to take over an extented period of time.

Honey Don't Cough

The honey was my favorite item and I almost wanted to make cookies with it. Instead, I choose to use it with my tea. It was soothing and I will continue to use this product. Cookies or honey glazed bbq chicken might be in my future.

Dream Water Snoozeberry Sleep Aid

Next to the honey, this was my second favorite product. I don't have issues falling or staying asleep. I took the product without water and it tasted like a pixie stick. I didn't feel sleepy after taking it, but I really liked the taste.

Earth's Care Dry and Cracked Skin Balm

I have very dry skin that is usually irritated during the winter months. The product moisturizes my skin well, but the wintergreen oil smell is a bit overwhelming. This a product I would use sparely.

Eat the Bear Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein

I was excited about this product because I love Reese's cups. I tried it after an 8 mile run. It has a faint chocolate and peanut butter taste. It is a low carb product, but I didn't like the after taste.

Vita Perk Energy Supplements

This product is an energy boost that is supposed to be added to coffee. Since I don't drink coffee, I mixed it with hot chocolate. It had a slight taste, but was pleasant to drink. I am not sure if it worked for me.

Driv

This energy drink is bubbly and slightly sweet. It reminds me of various commercially available supplements that are on the market. I drank it after a run and it taste good. This might be a product I use for future runs.

The Verdict

I will admit I am not a big supplement taker because I don't really know their effectiveness. I enjoyed the December box more than this box, but I was glad I had an opportunity to try new items.
