AfterShokz Trekz Titanium wireless headphones (http://www.aftershokz.com/) are the best engineering product that I wish I had a chance to work on in engineering school. As a engineer, I love that these headphones address two issues that many people face.

Issue #1: I can't find earphones that fit my ears.

These headphones are cool in that they use bone conduction technology to deliver sound through the cheekbones. The sound is superb and after a while I forget that the headphones weren't in my ears. The volume and call controls are easy to use on the device.

So if your ears are too small or if you do not like the annoying feeling of having something in your ears, these headphones are perfect for you. An added bonus of bone conduction technology is you won't disturb others around you if the volume turned up too loud.

Issue #2: I can't hear my surroundings

When many people are working out, they turn up their music to block out the surrounding noise. While this is nice to help you focus, it can be dangerous if you are unable to hear cars or other things in the environment. Since AfterShokz do not fit in the ears, you can still hear the surrounds while rocking out to your tunes. The headphones do come with earplugs that you can use to enhance the sound while you are working out. Use the earplugs with caution while you are working out.

The Verdict

AfterShokz is probably the coolest piece of technology that I have ever used. I would highly recommend these headphones for workout and for personal use (phone calls, etc).
