NYC Marathon Training Week 12

Week 12 was my second week of using Ekiden coaching for training. It also the week that I got sick and could not complete all my runs. Below was my schedule for the week.

Tuesday was an easy 3 mile run donut run with Highland Runners in the rain. This probably was the start of the journey to ickyness. The donuts were good though. I was my first time having a bacon donut.

Wednesday was yoga.

Thursday was the first time I ran in temperatures less than 90 degrees in 3 months. I ran the 3 miles according the plan. It was the first time in a long time that I ran a few sub 11 miles. This summer has been a killer.

Saturday was a easy 5 mile run in nice cool weather. While the run was great I was feeling under the weather. In hopes of getting well for the long run on Sunday I took medicine all day and slept for about 10 hours.

On Sunday I was suppose to run an 18 mile progression run, but I was in no shape to do so. I was sweating profusely before I even started running. I decided to do a 3 mile progression run to get an idea of how it worked. I really like it and I plan to use it for future training. On to another week of training.
