2019 Georgia Publix Half Marathon

Publix how do I love thee? Let me count the 13.1 ways. Another March, another Georgia Publix Half Marathon. I have a love, hate relationship with this race. I love the course, but but I hate mile 10. Every year, I sign up to run Publix because the weather is always great and course is amazing. This is my 5th time running this race. So was I smiling at the end (usually I look angry at mile 12)?

Packet Pick Up

This year, the expo for the race was held at Atlanta Station. I love Atlantic Station pick ups because of the ample parking and it is a location that is easy for driving or taking Marta. Packet pick up was quick and easy. There were plenty of props for taking pictures. A display was set up to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Peachtree Road Race this year.

Race Day

This year, the half marathon course returned to its normal route. Last year, there was a slight change at the end. It was typical Atlanta running (up the hill, down the hill--repeat each quarter mile). The weather was perfect and hills were alive. I missed the sub 2:30 time by 2 minutes. I will proudly take my time and keep it moving with a smile. The next stop is the Savannah Women's Half Marathon in Savannah in April.
