I love virtual races. I like the freedom of being able to run when and where you want and without all the crowds or early morning traveling. I have been interested in ZOOMA (https://zoomarun.com) races for a while, but I haven't been able to fit one in my schedule. ZOOMA is known for its support for women empowerment and the fun post-race powers. Thankfully ZOOMA has virtual race options for its locations.

I chose the ZOOMA Great Lakes virtual 5k race. The physical race was held on Sept 14, 2019 at Lake Delavan, WI. I ran my virtual race on Sept 16 in Oakhurst, my favorite neighborhood in Decatur. It was scenic and the weather was cool. I love Oakhurst and I just like seeing all the homes. I finished the race 36:12 (11:37 pace).

The best part of participating in the race was the swag! I received a race medal, tee-shirt, bag, and cup.
