Running into October

Disclaimer: I received an entry into the NYRR Virtual Turkey Trot 5k as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews!”

Hello October! As I continue in my pursuit of my sub 2 hour half marathon goal I will admit training has been a little tough. Currently we are still experiencing 90+ degree weather, but the good news is that I have been running in the mornings. My goals for October are to continue running according my Atlanta Track Club training plan, meal prep and go to sleep at 11 pm.

I have found that I really like running strides. I plan to continue running them so I can increase my speed and endurance. One month to my first attempt of this year at my sub 2 goal. Wish me well.

I am also running many virtual races this year to incorporate more fun into my training. Since I am not running the Thanksgiving half marathon this year I am running the NYRR Virtual Turkey Trot 5k during the Thanksgiving holiday. The race is sponsored by the New York City Road Runners, the same group that organize the NYC Marathon. The best part is that it is free!
