2021 Publix Savannah Women's Race Update

Disclaimer: I received an entry into the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon race to evaluate as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

Yesterday the decision was made to cancel the in-person 2021 Publix Savannah Women's races due to safety precautions. Participants were given three options: run the race virtual, receive a refund, or transfer their registration to the Savannah Bridge Run in December. I opted for the virtual race since I actually like virtual races and I want the medal. I know the decision is disappointing to many, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

I plan to run the virtual race on the actual race day using the same route I ran for the virtual Missoula Half Marathon. I hope I can improve my time and have fun exploring the city as I run. Hopefully next year we can return to in-person but until then I am going to enjoy the freedom of virtual runs.

I can't wait to add the 2021 medal to my existing Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon medal collection.
