Last Saturday (Aug 3) I ran the Atlanta Track Club Decatur Dekalb 4 Miler. The race is free and even more importantly, in my neighborhood. I love the race because I can walk to the start and the course is familiar to me. I had originally planned to skip the race due to travel, but since my plans changed I decided to run.
The race started at Decatur High School and then traveled through the neighborhoods bordering DeKalb Avenue. It was classic Decatur--hills, heat, and humidity. Since I ran the race last year I knew what to expect. The course was fine, but the weather made the race difficult. I finished in 50 min and 14 seconds. After the run I enjoyed the snacks and handing out with friends. I am looking forward to the end of summer weather so running will be a bit easier.
