Happy Hour on the Pavement: Ultima Mocktini Hydration Drinks

Disclaimer: I received Ultima Mocktini Hydration Drinks to evaluate as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

This summer has been one of the mildest that I can remember. I cannot believe I ran the Peachtree Road Race on July 4th and the temperature was in the 70s. Even with a mild summer, I have to be intentional with hydration to power through summer runs. This summer I had an opportunity to return to Ultima, one of my favorite electrolyte brands. Ultima has released a new line of Mocktini electrolyte drinks. I tested the new flavors Pina Colada (my favorite), Appletini, and Peach Bellini. I also received the original Ultima electrolyte flavors (lemonade, orange, blue raspberry, grape, and raspberry) that I have used in the past.

Ultima Refresher electrolyte drinks have no calories or sugar. Each individual packet is mixed with 16 fl oz of water. The drink packets are compact and fit in your running belt to refill your bottle on the go. Ultima is hydrating without feeling sticky over time like traditional sports drinks. My hands tend to swell during my runs in the summer and drinking Ultima is great for preventing dehydration and bonking. While I enjoy the traditional flavors, the mocktini flavors felt like Happy Hour on the pavement. Let's talk about the Mocktini flavors

Coconut Pina Colada Mocktini

Coconut Pina Colada mocktini was my favorite flavor since it tastes so much like the actually happy hour drink. The pineapple and coconut flavor was so good and it made want to run just so I would have a reason to drink it.

Appletini Mocktini

Appletini was my second favorite drink. It reminded me of a green apple Jolly Rancher. I liked the flavor of this drink as well.

Peach Bellini Mocktini

Peach Bellini rounded out the mocktails. The drink had a rich peach flavor and was refreshing. While the drink was tasty, but peach is not one of my favorite flavors.

I used all three Mocktini flavors for my half marathon training runs and for the Peachtree Road Race. For the Peachtree, I only needed one pack to complete the race and I had a great time. While the rest of the work is starting to celebrate fall, the heat and humidity are still hanging out in GA. I plan to continue to drink Ultima during all my runs. The flavors and ease of use of is why I have been a fan of this brand for many years.
