Hello 2023! 2022 Recap

It's January 2023. Hard to believe the new year is here. Thankfully, the years are now starting to feel normal again. I am excited about the possibilities of 2023, but I want to first revisit the running adventures of 2022.

2022 was a great run year. It was my first time running Hot Chocolate ATL 15k Race and Big Peach Sizzler 10k in person since 2020. I also added a new state, KY, to my 50 states journey. In 2022, I ran the following races:

  • Hot Chocolate 15k-Feb 2022

  • Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon-April 2022

  • AJC Peachtree Road Race 10k-July 2022

  • Big Peach Sizzler 10k-September 2022

  • Urban Bourbon Half Marathon-October 2022

  • Savannah Bridge Double Pump 15k-December 2022

I planned to run the Rock 'n' Roll Savannah, but the race was cancelled. As a result, I switched my registration to the Rock 'n' Roll Nashville race in April 2023. While the races were some of highs of my year, injuries also brought lows. I dealt with foot pain, probably plantar fasciitis, for majority of the year. I took a small running break in Sept to allow my foot time to heal. I also re-joined gym during my break to work on my strength training, which was much overdue.

I also continued as a BibRave Pro and I will be back for my 8th year in 2023. So there will be more races and products to review.

Overall it was a great running year and I am looking forward to new adventures in 2023.
