Medal Monday: Missoula Virtual Half Marathon

Disclaimer: I received an entry into the Missoula Virtual Half Marathon to evaluate as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

For today's medal Monday I am celebrating the completion of the Missoula Virtual Half Marathon. I ran the race on Saturday, June 26. The weather was amazing to be at the end of June. I combined the half marathon with my Garmin training plan to help with pacing. I was a bit worried about the race since I haven't run beyond 6 miles this year due to recovering from a fractured foot.

Similar to the Missoula virtual 5k. My race swag arrived the day before the race. The box included the bib, medal, shirt, salt water taffy (my favorite), an exercise band, and instant coffee. Runners were also gifted a Run for Tony bracelet to celebrate the life of Tony Banovich, the late Missoula race director. I used my race swag for my traditional flat runner picture.

I ran a 13.1 mile loop from my home that took me through Downtown and Midtown ATL. The first 8 miles were part of Garmin training plan and I ran a 11:30-12:30 min/mile pace range. I was on pace 90% of this run and I felt really good. I saw a few cool things along the way that reminded me of Montana.

For the final 5 miles, I struggled a bit with pace because I was not confident in my feet (they were fine). I just kept going and finished the half marathon. My finishing time was 2:44:26..

I had a great week running the Missoula virtual 5k and half marathon. Hopefully, I will be able to run this reason series in person one day. Happy Medal Monday!
